Jiacheng Miao received an undergraduate degree from Nanjing University, China, followed by an MS in statistics and a PhD in biomedical data science, both from the University of Wisconsin—Madison, US. Miao subsequently joined Stanford University as a postdoctoral fellow in 2025.

Miao develops statistical and AI approaches to understand how genetic variations influence human complex traits, with a focus on drug discovery and personalized medicine. He is a grand prize winner of the NOMIS & Science Award for his essay “Understanding nature and nurture: Statistical and AI innovations uncover how genes and environment shape human health.”
